Compassion for All Beings

Graze in Peace, a 20-acre farm animal sanctuary located in Durham, Maine, has been a haven for animals such as pigs, chickens, turkeys, goats, sheep, and llamas, providing them with a second chance at life. Since our humble beginnings in Wisconsin in 2005, Graze has offered lifelong homes to over 150 animals traditionally labeled as ‘farm animals.’ In our unwavering commitment to ‘compassion for all beings,’ we aimed to challenge the arbitrary distinction between ‘farm’ animals and other animals such as those we care for and label as ‘pets.

In 2022, Graze in Peace entered a new chapter with changes in leadership. In the face of challenges brought about by this transition, we want to assure our community that the well-being of the animals remains our top priority. We are actively working to ensure their continued care, and we appreciate your ongoing support during this period.

For those who have been part of our journey, we extend our deepest gratitude.
